Training

ISS conducts its training through its affiliate, Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS), which is fully accredited by the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) and registered with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). TETA oversees quality assurance functions as delegated by the QCTO under the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act (Act No. 67 of 2008) and the Skills Development Act (Act No. 97 of 1998, as amended). It is important to note that training programs from institutions lacking TETA accreditation and QCTO registration are not officially recognised by the relevant authorities. ILS has successfully met the necessary criteria for accreditation and registration.
A prominent section of ISS Training is our medical centre, which was previously available only to ISG employees and driving trainees. We have now expanded our services to the public. Our medical centre provides general and standardised check-ups that are claimable through the patient’s medical aid. Our expert medical team conducts various assessments, including BMI checks, blood pressure monitoring, and blood sugar level evaluations. Our training is committed to expanding our medical offerings and the expertise of our staff.
In addition to training aspiring truck drivers to improve their employment prospects and bolster their CVs, we conduct thorough background checks, including pre-employment polygraphs, fraud checks, and license verifications for companies seeking to hire drivers. We also perform competency assessments on behalf of trucking companies, validating candidates’ skills and facilitating TETA-accredited certifications for their drivers. Since our inception, we have consistently increased the number of drivers vetted, trained, and medically assessed through ISS Training, and we are committed to further expanding these numbers annually to ensure that our roads are populated with the most qualified drivers.
Our training programs also aim to improve client productivity by monitoring and managing driver negligence, thereby helping to avoid financially burdensome errors such as costly truck repairs and penalties for tardiness.
